Kailangan ko talaga regular na mag-exercise. Isa rin kasi akong nakikipag-trabaho. Sa araw araw meron stress. Sa work at bahay. Papunta palang sa work, kapag lalo na naghahabol ng time. Stress na. ---------------------------------------------------- 3.92 m workers suffer mental illness http://manilastandardtoday.com/2013/...ental-illness/ By Christine F. Herrera | Posted on Mar. 18, 2013 at 12:01am | 424 views Tweet6 At least 35 percent of the country’s 11.2 million workforce in government and private sectors suffer mental disturbance as a result of stress and if left unchecked, it could lead to health risks, low productivity and poor service delivery, according to Isabela Rep. Rodolfo Albano. Citing a Department of Health (DOH) study, Albano said 3.92 million workers in government and private sectors suffered mental disturbance and called on heads of companies and agencies to require their employees to undergo regular medical examinations that ensure mental fitness. “The situation calls for a need to re-examine and improve employers’ health programs for workers so they can efficiently boost the employees mental state and capability to face everyday challenges at work and at home,” Albano said. The DOH Center for Health Development in Region Two said most of those who suffer mental disturbance were rank and file employees. There are 1.2 million state workers and 10 million private sector workers. To avoid stress, workers need to do physical exercises in the office or in their workplace. Workers must also undergo regular medical checkups and workers in private offices could avail of services of government health centers and hospitals. Albano said stress can result to depression, anxiety, compulsive behaviors, and even headaches, fatigue, insomnia, stomach disorders, hypertension, and high blood pressure. “Simple stress relief activities like meditation, brisk walking, stretching, aerobic exercise, and laughing can do a lot to calm or relax a person,” he said. Albano called on government and employers to provide stress-busting activities that would enhance mental health programs for their workers.
