Trek 8500 project

Good day gurus/masters/idols. I have a new HT project. Meron ako Trek 8500 na frame. I'm eyeing first for my fork. What can you say about RST Storm fork or Epicon fork? I need your opinions sir.

80-100mm fork sir swak na swak yan.. kung rst or epicon ang pinagpipilian mo.. Epicon kana..

Yung rst storm kasi 180mm travel yata, 7500 price. Almost same sa epicon. Hehe. Wala ba magiging problema sa geometry ng frame ko kung epicon gagamitin ko?

180mm for a XC frame is waaayy too much. For sure magkakaproblema ka nyan sa geometry. Go for a 80-100mm fork

depende yan sa budget.. pero i'm using 2012 Epicons.. decals lang naman at weight (konti lang ata?) ang difference neto sa 2013..

magpapalit din ako ng fork eventually.. pero not now.. matibay tong epicon hehehe... lalo na you get to find the perfect air pressure and rebound adjustments.. perfect yan sa trails

MT15 and Continental, okay naman yan

don't forget your helmet and lights kung mag bike commute ka

not really so sure bro.. pero tried and tested na ang epicon hehehe.. though, may RST fork ang bike ng gf ko.. pero mas gusto ko performance ng Epicon..

either of the two pwede mas magaan, pero minimal lang naman difference niyan

Go for epicon na, set it to 100mm and your all good (This is the set up for my ATX if you remember when we did our ride.

with that frame, i'll go with a SID or FOX F100 instead... hehehe. but seriously, with the choices above... go Epicon.

Ofcourse Fox F-100 (lahat 'ata white color 2012-2013 model) would be the best choice for your frame but with the alotted budget ok na ok ka na sa Epicon RLD or Manitou R7 kaya.

Just forget about RST Storm and go for EPICON!

Storm is intended for FR and much heavier (2.3 - 2.8kg) compaired to EPICON (XC/AM use, 1.7kg). Subok at maaasahan ang EPICON ^_^. 'Di ganon kabigat, air sprung, at kaya ng budget! ^_^

Just tune its PSI properly. I'm 135+lbs and my sweet spot is 60 psi

uh dagdag ko lang. With that frame of yours, a FOX or a SID or even an XRC DT Swiss (lightest among the rest) is the best. You should be happy enough if you would settle for the bang for the buck EPICON.

Performance wise, bang na bang ang Epicon haha. Mas mahal na ung iba ko pang nabangit na fork...

ot ha.. 60 psi din saken pero 160lbs ako.. dating 80 psi binabaan ko konti kasi hehe..

Bro. honestly I never ever use manitou fork & had a short use of EPICON RLD wayback 2009. You may google Manitou R7 vs. Epicon to read comparison & reviews. AFAIK manitou is a bit pricey than epicon but may not guarantee it's superior over epicon. What I hate with epicon, ung small parts nya madali masira then ang hirap makahanap ng replacement. Ung epicon 2009 ko binigay ko kay Utol & ung rubber seal nya loose sa left stachion & di namin alan saan ipagagawa.
