K-EDGE had their new Garmin computer mounts prominently on display at their booth. The two-piece CNC machined 6061 T6 aluminum mount is meant for the Garmin Edge 800, 500, and 200 GPS bike computers. The mount offers a stable and secure attachment, and enhances viewing with a more forward placement from the handlebars. I have used the K-EDGE GO BIG camera mounts, and can attest to their high build quality, robustness and solid platform they provide.
The mount fits 31.8 diameter handlebars, weighs 30 grams, have a lifetime guarantee, retail for $49.99, and come in Black, Gunmetal and Red.
They're coming out with another Garmin Edge mount that is meant for aero bars with 22.2mm clamp diameters, and it should place the computer in a very advantageous position for viewing. They also have a SRM computer version in the works.
Their bread and butter products are still their chain catchers, which have gotten more popular since the professional road riders have been demanding them on their bikes. They have a new Pro level chain catcher, which takes 50% more force to move out of position, and side cutouts for weight savings, and uses an innovative attachment system. It attaches to the front derailer, and uses a concave washer and an extra bolt which has an oblong hole, and this offers easier adjustment, and allows the mechanics to test torque without affecting the catcher positioning. It was used on Kristin Armstrong’s TT bike at the Olympics, weighs 8g, and will cost $39.95.
