Crankworx Whistler Action at Fingertips with Mobile Site & Live Webcasts

Whistler, BC July 27, 2012 –Crankworx Whistler’s mobile site has launched and is ready to become an awesome resource for festival-goers on the ground in Whistler, and for people following the freeride mountain bike event around the world. The 10-day festival gets even closer to fans of freeride with live webcasts of ten different events, powered by Red Bull Media House, available at redbull.com/bike and**crankworx.com.

“The Crankworx mobile site will let everyone stay on top of the non-stop action, whether they are looking for the latest race results or where the next party is,” says Darren Kinnaird, Crankworx General Manager. “People outside of Whistler can also experience Crankworx vicariously by tuning into the constant stream of social media updates on Twitter, Facebook and Flickr, not to mention daily videos on Pinkbike and sport recaps on our Vimeo page.

The Crankworx mobile site will give users access to important festival information like event schedules, updated sport results, expo and venue information, as well as the party schedule – all accessible via smartphone or tablet.
Another huge component to bringing Crankworx to the masses is the live webcasts of ten events. The webcasts, powered by Red Bull Media House, will represent over 20 hours of live coverage; over 20 hours of replays and VOD clips; and over 100TB of data delivered to an audience in the hundreds of thousands all around the world.

The ninth annual Crankworx Whistler is presented by Whistler Blackcomb and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. Crankworx Whistler is the biggest annual event held in Whistler and is also the largest freeride mountain bike festival in the world. Crankworx Les 2 Alpes will take place for the first time July 9-15, 2012 and is the first Crankworx event to take place outside of North America. This new event will build on Crankworx’s legendary legacy in the arena of freeride mountain biking.
