Default Fox Attack gloves review

Minimalist and light, the new Attack gloves from Fox are a close, comfortable fit, hold up well in crashes and shrug off the dirt. They are a great choice for summer riding.

Fox Attack gloves are extremely minimal. With no Velcro closure or cuff, they rely on the stretch back to hold them in place. The cut and shape is spot-on, so this works far better than you might expect.
There really isn’t much to the Fox Attack gloves. The unpadded, single-layer Clarino palm gives a positive feel on the grips. This is particularly good if, like me, you prefer thin grips for maximum feel and control through the handlebars.
Recognising that it can rain in the summer, Fox have given the dimpled, stretchy back a coating of P2i ion-mask to repel water. This works well. Water beads on the surface of the fabric rather than being absorbed. It’s not waterproof like, say, Gore-Tex, but it takes longer for your hands to get wet.

Pulling them on to your hands is a little difficult as there’s no Velcro closure. Once you’ve wrestled them into place, there’s no irritation; they’re really comfortable. Getting them off is equally hard, but this is a price I’m happy to pay for superior comfort.
They’re cut really well around the wrist and in particular around the fingers. The leading fingers have small silicone details to give you a little more purchase on the brake levers.

A little silicone on the fingers of the Fox Attack gloves provides extra grip for the brake levers.

I’ve been using them for several months, including a couple of 12-hour races and the Megavalanche, and they still come out of the washing machine every time looking brand new. Despite their lightness they’ve stood up well in crashes, and there’s little sign of wear around the thumb or on the palm.

Verdict
Great lightweight and well-fitting gloves. With the ion-mask water-repellent coating, they are not only great in the summer, but good for the rest of the year.
