you can still cut down weight by replacing your Brakeset, tire and saddle, i thinks 22lbs is possible without cf parts

Also replace fork to high end, seatpost and frame to scandium or titanium

pinaka malaking weight savings na siguro ung fork...

afaik, epicons are around 1.8kgs, kung mag Rockshox SID ka, around 1.4kgs yata yung mga un. that's about a pound na.

para saakin, sobrang gaan na ng 24lbs na bike hehe.

I dont know why u still want to lower your bikes weight, but 24.7lbs IS already light! my 29er weighs all of 34 lbs.

Entirely possible. Budget lang naman ang constraint.

My suggestions:

Change brakes to Shimano XTR (Cheaper way) or Magura MT8. Personally, I really love the new XTR Trail brakes.

Change seatpost to Thomson Masterpiece or KCNC Ti Pro Lite. Meron din daw Token seatpost na sobrang gaan na mas mura compared to KCNC.

Change fork to Either Fox FIT RLC, RockShox Sid or Magura Durin SL or the new TS8.

If you have a really big budget, change your whole drivetrain/brakes to the new XTR. Kung limited, changing the crank to XTR can make a significant difference. You won't lose a lot of weight, but the bike will ride lighter.

A lot of times, it's not the total weight that matters, but where the the weight is lost.

^^

eh kung RS Sid pa ipalit na fork para mas magaan, more or less yun listed suggestion for upgrade eh price na ng whole bike.

I suggest na change the fork na lang to Fox RLC Fit with kashima para mas mukhang magaan tingnan, :) tutal magaan na yan 24+ lbs na bike mo. isabay mo na din palitan yun nevegal to something lighter, maybe maxxis flyweight tires

Here's some affordable ways you can consider... Change to a faster rolling lighter tires with tubeless conversion. Go for a 1x9 setup if you're still going geared. Grannies, big ring, FD, shifters and cables adds alot of weight. RST First fork. Around 1.5kg for non vbrake model. Superstar Component Zephir stems are pretty light. KCNC seatpost like ACMI suggested. Get Formula RX brakes, it's lighter than XT and feels and bite great!

@wammiboy, checking on google

Suntour Epicon - 1820 grams

http://www.srsuntour-cycling.com/dst...QLC+26%27.html

Rock Shox Sid - 1450 grams

http://www.bikeradar.com/news/articl...id-fork-12273/

roughly 400 grams weight savings = 0.88 pounds. almost a pound

you wanna try eggbeater pedals?

You can also use center lock hubs/wheel set with matching center lock rotors. Malakilaking weight savings din yun.

For a weight weenie bike, I vote for a carbon fiber rigid fork. That saves a lot of weight.

"Slam that stem", cut excess seat post or better yet look for lighter model, change saddle to a lighter one (Ti rails), lighter tubes, silicone or foam grips, remove decals, remove paint, convert to S... ay teka di ko pala bike to. heheheh...

Consider my suggestments wag lang yung removal ng decals tsaka paint.
