Default Stomach acidity and sport drinks

Hi!

I have extreme stomach acidity/GERD (Gastro-esophageal reflux Disorder), basta recurring ang extreme acidity ko. My doctor recommended that I stay away from drinks/food with acidic content. Drinks such as Gatorade/Powerade, Pocari, etc. always has citric acid in them.

Are there alternatives that I can take? Maski natural? Will buko juice do the job?

Thanks for your replies.

Thats a question you should have asked your doctor.

But kung kaya ng tiyan mo, then sure why not. My friend drinks buko juice on long road rides and as recovery drink.

well, i guess some of the gels would still have electrolytes, or meron mga salt tables you can add to your water.

dont look for alternatives, cure your acidity problem, try mo uminom ng katas ng dahon ampalaya yung puro ser.mga 15 ml everyday for 1 week.sakasakan ng pait yan.mas mapait pa sa pinakamapait na karanasan mo ser.hehehe. pero effective. kung kaya mo lang.

Bukod sa gamot ( proton pump inhibitors) na ipapainom ng doctor mo sayo sir eh eto pa ang 4C na dapat mong iwasan;
Cigarette
Coffee
Cola
Chocolates

Buko juice di naman contraindicated pero it is not an alternative as GERD medication.

Thanks for the replies. Ano alternatives to Powerade/Gatorade?

Same here may problem din with GERD.
brader as long as you are eating right and as mentioned avoid the 4c's it will do.Hindi naman makakaapekto sa GERD yung energy drinks unless di ka gagalaw (no activity at all nilalabas mo naman agad during long rides ehh) nga pala ni re-se-ta din ba sayo to:

Omeprazole 20mg: 1 hour before breakfast: 1 hour before dinner
GAVISCON ORAL: for emergency use hehehe sudden attack ng GERD.

Magbaon nang saging, kakanin, suman, o kaya biscuits. Wag antaying magutom bago kumain.

+1 sa bananas. You can also bring along raisins, gummy candies (or electrolyte chewy candies like GU CHOMPS). You can mix raisins with other dried fruit and make a trail mix with nuts. Hard candies like KOPIKO or X.O. Use your imagination. As long as you have solid food, you don't really need electrolyte drinks that much.

The OP is stating that he has extreme stomach acidity and you're going to tell him to take vinegar?

just like the vinegar and salt mixture, vinegar is acid while salt (NaCl) is base. so I get a pinch of salt and take put it on my tongue then let it be dissolved by the saliva. then I drink a glassful of water

Sir question po, pasingtabi na din po. May history din ako ng gastro, kaninang umaga nag trail ako, after one round bumaligtad sikmura ko, and nag suka ako. Kinain ko for breakfast one piece of chocolate cookie and water. Now di ko alam kung nagsuka ba ako kasi natagtag ako. 1st time ko kasi. Or mali yung breakfast ko.

Di kaya exercise induced vomiting yung nangyari sayo sir? Minsan kasi pag napupuwersa eh nasusuka talaga, nangyari narin sakin yun. Medyo madami akong nainom na tubig nung nangyari sakin yun.

Thanks very much for your replies.

Doboltap: Yes, sobrang dalas kong ma-pulikat. Its my weakness, Pag inaatake kasi ako, I lose several pounds, as in namamayat ako. I think in the process, maraming nutrients din ang nawawala pag may LBM na kasama kondisyon ko (pasing-tabi sa mga kumakain). That's why I'm looking for alternative sources of electrolytes.

Again to all, thanks.

I have GERD too. Nexium is PHP 100++ /pc once a day two weeks - two weeks gamutan.
I tried the brand BRAGG ata un nabibili yan sa SM Hypermart. It seem to work for me before.

And daming bawal pag may GERD. Decipline lang talaga kailangan.
