Default What bike handling techniques do you want to learn?

So...I'm planning to do a bike clinic, albeit an informal one. Nothing fancy just sharing some tips and tricks of bike handling. Disclaimer: I'm not an expert, I just want to share what I know

I can teach the following
1) riding with no hands - yes for balance
2) bunnyhop
3) body positioning
4) mashing and spinning
5) going down stairs/curbs
6) going up curbs

so what else do you want to learn? btw this will be short, normally i'd start early, around 7:00 and end at around 9:30 so you can still ride/practice to your heart's content.

Ako din sir! Lalo na bunnyhop, 1" lang yata ang angat ng likod ko, tsambahan pa! Pati stairs! Mga small stairs at hanggang mga 6" na drops pa lang ang kaya eh, useful to sa urban riding! Thanks sir!

My friend (emonlemon in the forums) and I are practicing bunnyhops on our own and could surely use some expert advice. Hirap ako paangatin yung likod. I could do it using clipless but I still want to learn the proper way without "cheating". hehe. When and where yung clinic, sir?

most likely it will happen on hmm.....the 4 day weekend on august, and most likely in UP, i still have to find a spot na kayang accomodate ang attendees

@emman, sure i'm actually planning to do some sort of course outline para progressive ang pagtuturo. i can't teach how to bunnyhop kung hindi kayang tumayo sa pedals nung rider, he he

@omar, sure at least ikaw 1" ako mga .5". 6" drops, hmm....parang bangketa lang yun ah. you can drop it with grace

@xian, most likely sa UP, sometime during the 4 day weekend in august.

@jeth and lejal, check lang lagi ang boards, i'll post a schedule soon.

@sir tom, ahi hi hi, sige ba. the longest trackstand i can do is around 10 seconds lang yata.

btw....this will be newbie friendly, para yung mga sanay na....turo rin kayo sa iba i remember nung nag Forbidden trail kami, in a matter of hmm....5 mins, we taught someone to bunnyhop. we also had some people go down 2 flights of stairs.

Master Anthrax, saan sa UP yung hindi binabawal ng mga guard ang pagba-bike pababa ng hagdan?

Flights of stairs? Okay yan ah! Gusto kong ma-try ang mahabang hagdan. The longest I've tried was the one in Pestaño but it was not steep. The steepest I've tried was the stairs at Dans Bike Shop but it was not long.

As for skills/techniques, gusto ko talagang ayusin ang bunnyhop ko, kase hindi sya consistent. And oh, I also want to learn proper curb drops. Yung unang lalanding yung rear wheel. Usually kase ginagawa ko, niro-roll ko lang yung curb (slow crawl) okaya kung merong space, pick up speed then hop ako. Another skill na hanggang ngayon di ko maayos ay yung cornering (tight turns, fast turns).

@crankbreaker, sure

@tigs, ang nasubukan kong babain dun is yung 2 stairs sa may palma hall parking lot, one going to the parking lot, and another going to the beta way. another i've tried is sa pancit canton stairs, malapit sa main library. yung sa main library....he he he si pjax lang sumubok, ang haba eh. so far 'di naman kami sinita, pinanonood pa nga kami eh, he he. as for curb drops....weight distribution and proper speed lang yung high speed turns...he he he, mahirap ituro yan...'di ako kumakarera eh pero tingnan natin if the space allows it.

@Welsh, sure

haaay, i really need to scout UP for a good spot. i know place kaso exposed sa elements. ayoko naman kayong mainitan ng sobra, he he.
