Question Headset to Fork Installation

Hi guys, please help me install my headset & fork. I recently bought a SR Suntour Epicon and an integrated headset, my problem is that there's a gap between the crown race and cartridge bearings sa baba. What do you think is the problem?

kailangan ng headset press para mawala yung gap ng race crown and bottom ng steerer tube.

i also have the same problem. nag diy self installation ako ng new fork.

found something in you tube na ginamitan lang ng screw driver and hammer.
i've yet to try it. baka dalin ko na lang sa lbs.

Thanks for the reply mga boss... Sorry I forgot to take picture, next time siguro. @paolonaz: Sir lapat n yung crown race sa bottom ng steerer tube eh the problem is between the crown race and cartridge bearings ng headset. Parang hindi fully inserted yung ring ng crown race sa cartridge bearing. I have thoughts na normal lang to if wala namang play. Mawawala kaya yung problem kung higpitan ko yung top cap?

Baka baligtad yung lower bearing? Or baka hindi naisagad yung race sa crown ng fork? Hmmm.. A quick trip to your friendly neighborhood LBS would be a good idea.:)

Resolved!

What I did:
In my case, its normal for a newly installed headset. Sa una may gap talaga pero nawala din after riding the bike and constant adjustment of the top cap. Thanks all for your answers.

No, it's not normal to have gaps even when newly installed. The race and bearings should be seated properly first time around. And not to be "seated" by constantly riding it and then readjusting the top cap and stem.

eh dapat, baka hindi compatible yung crown race sa dati mong headset vs. bagong headset.

Is the crown race the one that came with the headset? Kung hindi, +1 ako sa ^. Some crown races and bearings are compatible with other brands, some are not. Always safer to use the supplied crown race.

short answer is no, baka 'di gumana yung lower bearing mo kung wala yung crown race. make sure the race is installed correctly.
