Dumadami na pala ang bike commuters, sana pati sa mga schools, at all age levels.
Definitely not for everyone, everyday. But probably okay for some people, some days of the week.

How popular is biking in your college or high school during school days? Which schools are bike-friendly? Which ones have bike parking? We saw the Diliman bike racks and bike lanes, siguro madami din sa iba pang schools, specially those campuses outside our big cities.

Many elementary schools in Europe and a few other areas teach basic riding skills to kids, as a kind of PE just like some schools teach basic swimming. Are there similar school-based bike clinics for kids here? Any bicycle clubs?

Malabo yata sa elementary kids dito: dangerous routes (but the community can design safe cycling routes), big school bags (but schools can provide/lease lockers to students so not all books need to be carried home everyday), unpredictable weather... but still a nice dream, and perhaps still feasible for those living in rural areas and bike-friendly subdivisions.

i'm still a student, i'm studying in PSBA-QC. i'm thinking of bike commuting. although i'm still thinking about it, but it will save me something like php1000 a month, which will be used on my future upgrades.

Im a high school student here in the province of Isabela. I dont really commute to school during school days when there are classes since its not allowed in our school. But i do during weekends when we got some projects to do in or outside the school, It really helps not only in exercising but also helps me save allowance. This june im going to college and im looking forward to bring my bike with me in manila, I would love to commute with my bike but seems very complicated since i dont know routes in manila yet. Well maybe ill do someday when i meet someone here who is also a biker and tour me around the city.

UST during my college years, bike commute ako pag nagtitipid

uso ang nakawan ng bike that time pero ang secret ay tropahin ang mga guards dahil may mga bike din sila... safe siya sa umaga

I park it near our tambayan para pagdating ng hapon, kahit may class pa ko, may mga titingin ng mga tropa. safe naman siya sa hapon.

UST today, bike friendly na. may mga bike racks na infront of the buildings
to double the safety, tropahin pa din ang mga guards.



O.T.: pag naisipang mag-cut or may biglaang suspension ng classes, bike agad to MOA or Antipolo or UP para sa quickie tapos balik ng tambayan para tumambay. heheheh

kaya lang parang mahirap i-encourage ang isang eskwelahan mismo ang magpa-umpisa ng programang ganyan... lalo na at kumikita sila dahil kasama yata ang parking fee sa miscellaneous fees tsaka kelangang bumili ka pa ng school sticker para makapag park ka sa loob ng eskwelahan... na dagdag gastos pa sa mga babayarin...

Just finished the 2nd day of my bike to school "advocacy." I hope to continue it throughout the whole semester. Because of this I had to break my own rule of not wearing shorts in public.

Iba pala ang pakiramdam kapag may kasabay na babaeng cute na mukhang masungit. Sana mag-helmet naman siya kahit na ba Japanese bike ang gamit niya.

Bakit naman daw bawal? You can write the school officials about this ban, perhaps they just need some lessons on the virtues of cycling. Graduate ka na pala, baka naman makinig sila sa mga alumni nila, para sa mga naiwan pa doon.

To students of schools with similar bicycle bans, you have the entire PMTB community to support you in your struggle. Real bicycle culture begins in the local communities, and schools are natural leaders in any community. We need that critical mass of regular bike commuters to get things rolling...

I'm doing bike to school, two short climbs in my route and it never felt better overtaking some smoke-producin' tricycles.. ^_^

I'm a 2nd yr medical student, I ride my bike to school/hospital everyday. 9 miles papunta school at 9 miles din ulit pauwi i wear my white uniform during my rides hehehe di nko nagpapalit hanky lang at alcohol ang katapat para fresh ulit aircon naman ang rooms kaya 10 minutes lang fresh na ulit pakiramdam. Swear, nung nag simula ako mag bike papunta school di na ako na late

Naiinggit ako pag may nakikita akong ngba-bike commute pauwi pilit kong kino-convince ung parents ko na kaya ko..Sabi nila para safe daw..

try mo mag bike pag weekends yung walang pasok para ma gamay mo yung daan without time pressure.. pag nagawa mo 3 times for sure confident at estimated mo na ang 4th ride mo.. tapos try mo paalam ulit sabihin mo yung good news sa parents mo na makakatipid ka na sa allowance mo hehe

at yung isa pang good news na may work-out ka na, yung matitipid mo sa pamasahe yun ang pang palit ng parts.



but on a serious note,my folks favored my bike commuting. kasi derecho uwe daw ako at hinde na ginagabi.

oo nga ako rin derecho uwi na hehehe parang may sense of responsibility ka na sa sarili mo at bike mo di ko maimagine mag bike ng lasing hahaha pero on a serious thought magandang rason para makaiwas ka ng inom sabihin mo lng "pass muna ako pare naka bisikleta ako eh" lusot na wala pang hang ups sa tropa hehe

During my high school days, I always do bike to school so pde na rin ako hindi mag dala ng pera.

Now my college days, regular classes I do bike to our church para mag park para makatipid sa commute. ntsp class, bike to school na cainta to UE Recto pag hindi tinamad at mainit.
