ganyan din bike ko.

6 weeks pa lang at sa road pa lang ako nagbibike. Hindi ko pa naexperience ang trails.

Sino pa ba gumagamit ng SGM Hurricane?

Hi guys. I am a real noobie in terms of biking. I would really love to start this hobby for health reasons but I don't have enough moneyto work with. I saw this bike online and it caught my attention. I was supposed to get a mall bike but with a few extra thousands I can get this instead. I would like to get my bike this weekend so I can start right away.
I'm also 5'10 and 230 lbs will this fit me just right? TIA! Here are the specs.

sgm user here sir. i think kung gagamitin mo lang sya sa weekend ride this bike could hold. yung frame nya actually ang gusto ko. malinis at pulido yung pagkagawa. yung mga component medyo nasa par level and eventually upgrade mo din sya. but if you want so start kagad pweding pwede na sya. btw, here is mine with few upgrades

I am planning to use this around our village and maybe in UP sometimes. I am on the heavy side (230lbs). Will this hold up? Also I am 5'10 would size 17" frame work?

@ma4ma, at 5'10", dapat yata size 18 or 19 sa 'yo. medyo comfy ang maliit na frame, pero kapag mahabaang rides na, sasakit na likod mo because the cockpit is too cramped for you.

frame will hold, scared of your weight? unless papatalunin mo yan, baka bumigay, pero yung normal riding conditions....mauuna ka pang bumigay bago yung bike.

if you're going to ask "ay mag-uupgrade pa ako" well...you get what you pay for. ang unang regret diyan are the brakes, kasi hindi post mount ready. anyway, magkano ba budget mo?

pero yung officemate ko SGM ang gamit, nakapag UP Forbidden trail at La Mesa na, not to mention bike commuter (not everyday though) pero....sa ngayon....tires pa lang yata ang pinalitan niya.

@anthrax

Thanks for the quick response. I am just looking for the cheapest one first just to feel if this is for me. I am close to buying a mall bike for 2k pero saw that ad and thought it might be a huge leap already. Pero mostly sa village lang ako paikot ikot and no plans na patalunin hehehe. Ano po cons nung hindi post mount ready na brakes? Also, are there any better bikes within this price range (6.9k)? TIA!

@ma4ma - Try mo magikot sa quiapo in front of Raon, madami ka makikita dun aside from the SGM... (Since suki ako dun)

You might get a decent specialized frame with that budget. Important thing about buying a budget bike is as long as you are comfortable with the rig...

That first sense of - wow I like this bike... with a cheap price.

@egpamatmat, note though that those Specialized frames are bootleg. So in case it breaks...you can't get warranty, not even from Dan's. An authentic Spez HT is already 5 digits, frame pa lang.

@ma4ma, kung hindi post mount ready...hmm....bibili ka pa nung adapter kung magpapalit ka ng caliper. then again, wala naman reklamo yung barkada ko pero 'di pa siya nagpapalit. medyo....walang resale value yung calipers when you decide to replace them.

kung ako sa 'yo, get the SGM, ride it 'till you break it. if nagustuhan mo talaga yung sport, then maybe in the future, either upgrade your current components or build a totally new bike. para 2 bikes mo, isang pang tabi tabi at isang pang mahabaang ride.

in my case i used to have 3 bikes, one for palengke duties (para hindi takaw nakaw), for for road riding, and one for trail
