Default Best MTB tire in terms of puncture resistance

What is the best tire (in 26 27 and 29 sizes) for an MTB used mostly on road and trails in terms of puncture resistance?

para sa akin halos pare pareho lang.the best is to use an anti flat tape.

i think there's no puncture resistant tire. Use tubeless setup with sealant..

you're bound to get a flat one way or the other. yung iba gumagamit ng hard compound rubber tires, kaso talo yan kapag basa or rocky ang trail. yung iba gumagamit ng malalaki ang knobs, mabigat nga lang ipadyak. yung iba gumagamit ng tubeless setup.

ako...nagpractice na kaya kong magpalit ng inner tube at makabike agad in less than 10 mins.

for me, best is to go tubeless, pero siempre worst comes to worst(sidewall ang nadali) kelangan mo pa din ng spare, and as per sir anthrax76 mentioned, practice to change flats

maraming pros and cons. you may get hard compounds or dh tires and place special puncture-resistant tapes but adds substantially to your rotating weight naman. even then, in the long run, mapapa flat ka pa rin as your tires start to wear out.

besides going tubeless, may i add being conscious of your air pressures too? higher pressures tend to be more resistant, especially to pinch or snake bite flats.

Kung trail, tubeless with sealant, and tires with sidewall armor protection (e.g. Schawlbe's snakeskin that protects your tires when going through rock gardens.

paps,

ako ata yang nag experiment na yan, using schrader inner tube, remove ko yung valve then add 30ml to 50ml of cycle seal ( cycle seal - for motorcycle and car use pero pwede naman sa bikes )

ang cons eh bibigat ka ng 60grams to 100grams sa tires mo.. BUT nung na stapler or maliit na pako ako from tagaytay dh via EA eh hindi agad naubusan ng hangin at nag inflate lang ako up to 45psi then naka uwi na ng walang hassle

took me few seconds at pump up na, pinatagal ko pa ng ilang days before ko patch up at ok padin ang pressure

but now remove ko muna yung tube with cycle seal, puro short rides lang ako eh, if mag 100kms up at aabutin ng gabi eh install back ko tubes with cycle seal...

The heavier the tire, the more "puncture resistant" it is since it tends to be thicker, has a higher durometer, and of course if it has huge knobs it will ward off punctures better. I would imagine that Kenda Excavators and Maxxis Minions to be be puncture resistant but they are a bit of a chore to use on long rides. Schwalbe also has some tire models, like the Nobby Nic which has Snakeskin (for sidewall cuts) and Double Defense ( for punctures). They are very hard to find though and generally very expensive. Most MTB tire protection designs are for sidewall cuts, not puncture resistance. If you want there are tire liners (like Panaracer's Flataway) which you can put inside your tire to ward off puncture. It will add around 50 to 100 grams.

Tubeless setup is what a lot of riders do nowadays but it can get expensive and sometimes it can be fiddly. If you can set it up right it is almost set and forget but if it doesn't set right it can give you a headache. Valve stems are a common culprit, as well as forgetting to top up your sealant and your air. Big tears won't seal well in some situations. I myself still use tubes.

Hope this can be of help.

thanks for all the input. I can't read much tagalog or bisaya yet, but I got the gist of what was not posted in English. I guess something like Kevlar tires don't exist yet for bikes.
