Default need advice for 20k budget

newbie here..need advice for 20k budget

Hi all,

need some advice here... my office mate just bought a ryder bike with complete deore set for 20k flat price

can I buy a vision orange colored frame with same deore group set? and fork lock out for like 20k?

deore groupset at quiapo is at 11,500 cheapest that I found, others selling them at 14k, 12.5k, 13.8k and so on...

I'm at 5'6 height and 155lbs, or can you give me a parts list with price?

or should i just go for alivio groupset? or add a little more cash to get a deore groupset with vision frame?

I just like the orange colored frame dont know why...

any recommendations? you can also include the shop's name and location if that is ok..?

dont think you can do that. unless 2nd hand lahat ng bilhin mo. ok na yung ryder bike na 20k with deore groupset, 27.7 ata side ng gulong nun. good buy yun, just change the frame after sometime para pasok sa kulay na gusto mo. for me, mas mahirap magipon para sa groupset kesa s frame. =)

My unsolicited advice, get the same bike as your friend, or look for other brand and color within your budget, there are lots of brands and wheel size within the 20k range.
Your spec wish list will cost you in the 30k range if ever your do it part by part.

And one more thing, dont scrimp on your helmet. There are lots of trusted brand that dont cost too much, remember does your head cost cheap?

ROX is at Bonifacio, High Street. Giants bikes nila is consignment from LifeCycle, so if going for Giant, you may try Lifecycle baka mas cheaper. ROX has other bike brands in their store. There another Bike store also at Highstreet, di ko lang maalala name ng store.

Di pa ako "Sir", next week pa schedule ko ng Knighthood sa Great Britain, dapat kahapon kaso busy yung Queen

I think okay naman yun price quotation mo.
Additional pa, tires and tubes, headset, seatclamp, shifter cable housing.
Epicon is around 6.5k.

And again hwag mo tipirin budget for helmet. Twice na ako na save from head injuries ng helmet, it doesnt need to be too expensive.

since you will be using it mostly for commute, get a bike designed for it but not compromising too much on off-road use.... get a 29er: sample: http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/vi...isementDetails

The less-than-20k bike on ROX is probably a Giant Rincon. It doesn't have a Deore groupset.

I know because I dropped by two weeks ago and the only below-20k bike there that's a Giant is a Rincon.

Might I suggest both a 29er, tires with smooth treads, and even an Alivio groupset for now? Deore is for demanding off-road use, not on-road.

thanks for the comments, advice, suggestions... if Alivio is acceptable for on-road use then I might go with Alivio, 2 of my neighbors do have alivio gruppo and another 1 with altus...

let's see what will happen on saturday and sunday...I'll go bike hunting in quiapo and buendia.. I'm quite near bike shops in marikina and dela paz but they all say that quiapo bike shops do sell much much cheaper..

anything else I need to take note before buying a bike?

I already have an idea about the following

sizes,

fork lock out

saddle with cut out at the middle to avoid erectile dysfunction

bring magnet to check if frame is indeed alloy and not steel...

don't be afraid to ask for discounts, don't rush things...

buy helmet, gloves and blinkers

+++++++++

anything else you guys want to add up?
