Hi! My thoughts on the bike:
It's way, way cheaper to buy a built bikefrom the big companies esp. giant(who manufactures frames for specialized, trek etc) Consider this, these companies by their spareparts by the container-loads, not by piece, not by the tens even. Think about their buying power, and how much discount they get from shimano, sram etc for getting their gruppos. Have also checked with some friendly LBS's, and have confirmed that they sometimes purchase overstocked bikes from this companies and sell them not as whole bikes. . . but instead they chop them up for parts with which they get a tidy profit. Built bikes from those companies have different levels from the same model-line, take or example trek's trail bike entry, you can choose between the fuel ex5, ex6 until ex9. All would depend on your budget, same frame, same geometry but with different groupsets. While it is true that starting from scratch would yield you the bike with the parts that you like, it would be very costly in the end. Buy a built-bike in the level that you can afford. In case you dont like a part, don't use it, instead sell it as new to friends or on e-bay. Mabilis pa sa alas-kwatro because you can price it lower ng hindi ka malulugi. When you break down the parts on a built-bike, you could save at the very least 10k outright, savings could as go as high as 50k or more depends dun sa price/model ng bike na binili mo. Re Carbon bars and posts, i don't think you could save a lot of weight replacing your existing aluminum bars and posts, at most 300 grams??? that won't be much, cost to benefit ratio is just isn't there, "bling-bling" na lang yon, instead go for lighter wheels, tires with relatively lower rolling resistance, nandon yun realworld difference, lower revolving mass would make it easier to pedal, making you faster, making the bike feel lighter than it actually is. just my two cents worth. . . Happy Trails!!!

I am based i abra, got my trance from lifecycles, originally it was to be shipped via lbc, kaso ang mahal, luckily one of my friends was in the area, pina-pick up ko na lang sa kanya. yeba!!!
anyways lifecycles(025842442/09228842862) rox(028564638). Although they are the same company, lifecycles are more flexible with their prices.

no problem sir, they could ship, if its within luzon, LBC(mahal sobra). if its visayas-bound, ap cargo(mura ATA).
@ripantnow- - - sure na po kayo sa size nyo? if you want, you can check this link http://www.ebicycles.com/bicycle-tools/frame-sizer hirap kasi baka sumala, since you're not there to fit the bike yourself

For me it's ok na, ganda na yun gruppo mo, the others could be easily remedied once you've been afflicted with "Upgradeitis" =) go with your budget. . . enjoy the ride.

Thanks po. How about the other parts aside from the groupset? I'm still a college student so even if I get infected by the upgraditis, I dont think I can afford anytime soon. I'm just worried maybe the other less expensive parts I picked might wear out early.

Ups sorry. . . 2 o'clock habit(pm trail rides) IMHO, the others(except for your fork) are non-mechanical parts na, so i feel that would suffice for "normal" abuse.
