Which bike frame?

Guys im planning to buy a new frame, im choosing Jamis Xam 2008 or Kona coiler im little bit confused.

I'm a XC lover but love drops toh what do you think is suitable?

i like kona bikes-but the stinky air. have you seen it? but it's pretty expensive. if you really have to choose between the two-get the jamis. you can use it for xc and do some drops(wag masyado mataas pre. mga 3 ft lang para safe yung bike). if you want to go bigger-get the kona, but it's going to be difficult for you to do xc. an all mountain set up is best for you want. pasok yung jamis between the 2.

i agree with cycko, your typical hardtail can survive drops, assuming you know how to land correctly. if you want an AM setup with light FR, go for Jamis, it will more forgiving than the coiler on climbs.

if you're a gravity rider, get the coiler.

magandang araw mga bossing,

magtanong lang sana ako kung anong low budget but decent HT Frame ang magandang gamitin na pwede sa XC at AM, at kung anong low budget pero decent din na 130mm fork na pwede magamit sa 50/50 on and off road biking. Kakayanin kaya ng budget na 20 - 25k makabuo ng bike na may decent 130mm fork? hindi po kasi ako familiar sa mga prices at brands.

how much is the da bomb xc frame?

honestly if i were to choose... i'd go with vision pursuit. its probably less expensive at P3.5k-P4k, comes in different colors and sizes and most importantly its been tested by a lot of guys here at PMTB... http://pinoymtbiker.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1114

Survey lang mga sir, help me to decide what to buy for my 1st entry level rig... its between Vision Pursuit or GT chucker 2.0 ??? may nakita kc me na chucker mas mura kesa vision... For XC/weekend ride within metro lang po... Tnx in advance....

IMO, both are a good entry level frames. But I'll chose Vision Pursuit over the GT Chucker. The Vision Pursuit is lighter no doubt, and more pogi points. Very sturdy frame too, I know someone who rides one, he's big and mamaw. tough I haven't seen a chucker given up too.

Either way, you won't go wrong with any of the two.

i have a chucker 2.0 for XC use. it's light also just like the vision so weight is negligible when you compare both bikes

the important thing is the top tube (TT) length. the chucker's TT is considerably shorter than that of the vision. Actual TT (C-C) is only 530cm (<21in). you should bear this in mind if you are a tall person (5' 7" above) with long arms

and the chucker only comes in one size AFAIK

other than those both are good frames

consider the GT Avalanche bro ..thats actually more sa category ng Vision pursuit. Chucker is a more aggressive frame for urban and AM riding na yun

the avalanche is light but very tough ...some guys even use it for light DJ and DH

A size 14 (14 inch) Vision pursuit will fit you good.

And yes, also consider sir alphabolt's suggestion, GT avalanche. It's more XC'ish. The Chucker's goemetry is spec'd DJ/light FR side.

if you're an xc rider, go for the pursuit model of vision. this frame has been so much proven and so many satisfied pmtbikers using this frame could attest to it!.

gt's chucker was originally designed for jumps and urban riding.

or else, you might wanna try gt's avalanche.

question... visions are authentic made by the da bomb by some filipino manufacturers, right? (paki-correct lng po ako pag mali...nabasa ko lng dito sa forum) and gt is also an authentic orig brand. but according sa site, di pa sila nagbebenta ng frame only. and upon checkin with some lbs totoo nga. by end of the year pa daw release yung frame lang. does it mean that the GT frames released here are another case of knock off? pakilinawan naman po yung pag-iisip ko po mga bossings... thank you po...

isnt da bomb and vision from the same company manufacturer? high end nila da bomb and low end nila vision... a certain bike shop told me..

Most likely those GT frames came from a built-bike, which they broken into parts and sell them individually.
