Update On Group Set Prices

Sirs, went to different bike shops from Quiapo, Cartimar to the ones located in Makati and alabang checking out Shimano Group Set prices.

Would you guys mind helping me update prices? baka naman nagtanung kayo recently ng prices? I plant to build a 29er. Id rather know from fellow bikers who recently bought the parts rather than calling up the shops. Kasi pag shops...mahal na agad sa umpisa kasi alam nila na tatawad pa. Can you give me prices of yung "nakatawad" na prices?

Yes kasama na. FD, RD, shifters, brake set, crankset w/ bb, chain, cogset, rotors. Dati kasama pati hubset but with the advent of wheelsets mukhang di na sya kasama now.

Very informative thread indeed! But based on my browsing along cartimar, quiapo and alabang, I would suggest the most affordable/ reasonable price covers the vicinity of quiapo, either Kings' or Cycle Art.

edliw: yup...based on my experience good value nga sa quiapo..but i also heard stories that the group sets may have been "inserted" with inferior products or slightly used products....chain daw ang mga usually na ginagawa...plus whats scary is that most of the shops in quiapo do "dagdag/bawas" wherein the change the components of built bikes....make sure lang that everything is new

Yup i agree! Might as well keep reading & browsing the internet, Mr. google is always here to help us, especially the reviews & updates of the components (i. e. Shimano or SRAM).
Take note din pala: If you're canvassing groupsets in different LBS, Please check the series model year, i. e. LBS in cartimar offers you 16k (w/out knowing na 2005 model siya) for the Deore groupset while in Quiapo, they offer a much higher price of 19k (w/out knowing na newest 2010 deore), well the first thing strikes to your mind is you'll get the affordable one (the 16k). Yun pala ung deore na nakuha mo is deore 2005 model pa.E 2010 deore na yata ngaun.So you could end up disappointed if you will not browse & read.
Advice ko lang is wag na tayo lumayong ibang site, sa PMTB pa lang e solb na tau e!

+1 gusto ko rin malaman talaga ang tunay na price ng deore grupo w/ hydros disc. the lowest i found na nag banggit dito sa forum said it was 13.5K, but happen to asked around tru email sa mga andun sa list of sponsors section na shops eh they said 16.5K - 17K. so am really confused. and if ever merong makapag confirm na 13K lang nga ito, would definitely buy it agad kung san man meron nun.

14.5K sa cristy's deore grupo w/ hydros disc, according to the tindera dun last saturday.
