I've been only riding for 2 weeks now and I do it everyday, evening after office and morning on weekend. During this short period, I noticed a really big effect on my weight. Stepped on the scale this morning and suprisingly from 160, I am now 145. Wooohoooo!!!
How about sharing yours ![]()

That's great yummynia! Been commuting to work for over a year now. Saved about 20K pesos in gas money (but spent more on the bike itself
) and shaved about 22.7kg (~50lbs) from my 109kg (~240lbs) bulk!That is sadly to say as cycling as the only change in my lifestyle as of January 2008. Still eat, drink (bad!), and smoke (bad x 3!) the same (or maybe a bit less). Imagine what more could one lose weight if eating was controlled, drinking and smoking completely eliminated and a more of upper body exercise was involved. I noticed too that in the first six months that I was cycling, that the weight loss was more evident. I even dropped to almost 83kg (~183lbs) last June 2008! Disturbingly that time, I even heard the derogatory Pinoy phrase: "Are you drugs?" na gusto 'atang parinig sa'kin. Ngayon lang, parang troso na 'yung hita ko and my weight varies from 86-88.5kg (190-195lbs) depending on the day of the week. ![]()

I've had gym memberships for the longest time and I've only managed to yoyo from 190 to 200lbs. At my peak, I was pushing 204 lbs. After about a year and a half of biking... am not at 172 lbs.

diagnosed as a type II diabetic 207mg./dl blood sugar year 2007 at 160 lbs. Now after less than two years at 135 lbs. and blood sugar maintained at 80 to 90 mg/dl. 2 to 3 times biking to Monterey hills and long rides during weekends with the Monterey Bikers group. Mountain biking and very supportive circle of biking friends combined.

From a hefty 82 kg last February 2008 when I "rediscovered" mountain biking after a hiatus of about 2 years, I now tip the scales at 70 kgs. I think another contributing factor was that I also became conscious of my diet. Mas madali kasing magbawas ng timbang ng rider kesa magbawas ng weight ng bike.

i started biking about 7 weeks ago and tipped the scale at arount 100 kilos or 220 pounds...my first 4 weeks of biking was very irregular once the most twice a week.. pero the last 3 weeks medyo mas masipag ako...plus improved time and distance...LOST AROUND 3.5 kilos na...was able to stop smoking pa..my goal for the next 2 weeks is to go down 90 kilos...

As for the frequency, I usually bike every other day (about 15-20k flat road depending sa work schedule). During my off days, I try to lift free weights for my upper body conditioning program. I think my diet also helped me in keeping my weight down.

I think ok na sir ang 10km coz I'm doing the same every week days. During week end naman i try to double or triple the distance. Mostly road.

marami pong salamat mga sirs for sharing, ang napansin ko lang ngayon after 3 weeks daily biking (8 km road, 2 km trail), lumakas lang pagpadyak ko, yung 6 and 7 gears na halos di ko magamit dati dahil sa tigas ng padyak ngayon yun na normal gears na gamit ko. I haven't weighed myself yet though, saka na, mga 1 more month pa.

when I was biking last year... almost everyday, about 10km... for about 3 months... i lost about 20 pounds and was able to give smoking a break. I am a heavy eater but when I was biking, I noticed I started eating less, not intentionally, but I found myself getting full with less than a cup full of rice...
too bad i stopped just before the holidays... four months after I gained 40 pounds!!! i went back to smoking and am again suffering from heavy breathing... so I'm getting back on the saddle and try to get back in shape!

After giving birth last Aug 2008 thru c-section i weighed 140 lbs.
Since then di na ko pumayat. Started biking first week of April, now im only 134 lbs. Sobrang nakakasaya ng feeling kapag pumapayat. ![]()

hi... me i started biking since 3rd yr highschool pa ako up to now, that time i was really longing to lose weight coz it my weight was in the obese stage i pedal 6kms a day to school den going back home on the same flat road then i go long rides on weekends with my club members. i lost around 1inch of my belly that time. now, Im working on an I.T job so di maiaalis ang food trip that's why i pedal 5x the kilometers of my higschool days every weekend just to keep up with my weight...rain or shine...hehehehehe
