Smile Merida TFS 600 Challenger frames

Our LBS is selling this frame at a lower price than the 2011, 2010 models. Tried looking for these frames / built bikes from Merida's website but it seems they're not in their bike line up. They're advertised in this website: http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm...olesalers.html. Its country of origin is Guangdong, China unlike other Merida frames/ built bikes which came from Taiwan. Are these original Merida frames or knockoffs? Thanks

Default Re: Merida frames

couple of questions, pagsamahin ko na in one thread

1) where can i see reviews of Merida 120 1200d frame? i have one, and i can't see any review on the net (apparently, Merida is not popular in Europe or the US). I'd like to see reviews because i'm interested on how people perceive the product. i have no problem with the frame, i just want to see reviews

2) Merida 120 1200d is really a XC frame or more of an AM bike? i ride it heavily, geometry doesn't seem to be too much of a problem

1) let's see....if it's a new frame....you can't expect outright reviews....you can do a review though :)

2) basing it on travel alone, it's for AM duties

Merida TFS 900 user here. Second hand ko lang din nabili sa Buy and Sell section.

Coming from a Vision 1.5 and a generic bike before that, Merida TFS 900 is definitely lighter and more rigid.

I think the 2012 models sell for about 9.5K - 10.5K. Ironbikes (ironbikes.net) sells Merida frames and built bikes. Also, Sir Dragunov occasionally sells merida frames.

^ hindi daw bro i emailed merida about this 100mm lang daw talaga.

Quote:
The fork travel will depend on the application of the frame – as follows:

If it is a Matts TFS 1000-D it will be a hardtail, and therefore the recommended maximum would be 100mm.

If it is a Ninety Six TFS 1000-D the recommended maximum would be 100mm.

If it is a One-Twenty TFS 1000-D the recommended maximum would be 120mm.

I hope that helps.
