Best built bike for 15k budget?

Also a newbie and got my first "true" MTB last thursday from Ross @ Cartimar. Jamix X3 2009 model, pasok sa budget. Deore na ung RD, pero 8-speed ung cog, and shift lever. Discbrake na, tas ung fork, RST Gila T9. Mabait ung store owner, mabait din ung nag-assemble. Kahit newbie ako, tanong tanong and sinagot naman nila. Built bike ung kinuha ko, since di ko alam kung pano i-assemble piece by piece and di ko din sure kung per piyesa kunin ko eh kung makakamura and kung orig nga. Ung nakuha ko na built bike, naka box pa and inassemble on the spot. Enjoying the bike and enjoying the ride. Pinalagyan ko din ng cateye velo5, and ung odometer nya 30KMs na ang reading! Been biking everyday since I got the bike last thursday.

sir, try mo pasyalan yun mga LBS store, pasok budget mo sa mga build bikes like what they said. Basta't be sure na buy ka din ng mga safety gears. Happy hunting.

^ sa Ross cartimar ko po nakuha. 18,xxx ung price, tas nung tinanong ko kung magkano last price, 15,xxx ang quote sa akin. enjoying my bike everyday.

no upgrades pa sir. naka deore rd na. very good mechanical disk brake. hintayin ko nlang masira ang parts before ill upgrade.

hi pre, just acquire mine a gt chucker last month with all shimano gruppo (but not the high-end one) for 14k, i've bought it from cycle art bike shop in quiapo, well it's just good for me as a starter too like you, just check it out, coz i've been through canvassing and i've found it there more cheeper than others..........

yah i agree with you pare, i bought mine last month, gt chucker with shimano group set, (acera) disk brake, mavic rims, we'll good enough for 14k, pasok sa buget mo.

Hi, Ive been thinking of getting a MTB primarily for fitness and joy riding around the village. I've read alot of threads from the newbies section and Have decided to get a built bike. my budget is around 15k. What's the best brand of built bike that I can buy for this price? I've read here that the KHS Alite 150, Jamis X3, Giant.. etc etc fits my budget but I really dont know the difference between their specs even after looking at their spec sheets in the net since i'm a noob. you can go for a giant rincon, below 15k ata yun.

mtbs below 15k usually comes with

Suntour suspension forks.
Shimano 8 speed drivetrains. (non series, tourney, alivio, or acera)
some are built with disc brakes, some are with v-brakes.

or you for details on the specs, you may consider visiting or ringing Life Cycle in Greenhills for Giant bikes that may fit your budget, or kung gusto mo talagang makamura: Go to Kings in Quiapo! they carry Jamis and KHS bikes.
