Best built bike for 15k budget?

Yung binili ko po para sa asawa ko na trek 3700 09 model just costs 12k, naka bontrager na trim tapos acera na rd, okay na naman yung parts. The bike handles pretty well also, maganda syang starting platform.

i'm planning to buy a mountain bike within this month. i'm into road bikes way bak '89 to '91. i've joined some 1 day race (luneta tagaytay or puerto azul) but as a fun rider only. i'm from las piñas city.

i'm budgeting my unit at around 14,000. i want shimano alivio group set and a good aluminum frame and fork. is my budget possible to have what i want for a start? if budget permits, i want also a clipless pedal. i inquired over the phone in cartimar, shimano 505 is around 900.00. v brakes only. will not go into trails. weekend biker only. i need more of a road tires with a little of a thread or traction for a possible some off road.

Bro, kuha ka na lang ng built bikes sa budget mo, like Trek, Giant and GT mayron sa Karte LBS at Quiapo LBS na built bikes na, decent parts na ( sram x4, shimano acera and alivio mix ), nakabili bro-in-law ko ng Giant HT ( acera/alivio parts)13th plus lang kaya nakabili din ng pedal na clipless, kapag assemble kasi ang hirap habulin ng budget e.

correct sir, its a built bike. but do u think its advisable for me to upgrade the parts in 3 months time? i inquired at ross (cartimar) and they can assemble for me a unit that is around 13,000 using alivio. but of course, v brakes only. i don't know also what kind of fork, rims and tires to be used.

what do you think sir?

I got my bike at 14.5k Newtone bike shop delmonte Q.C cheap lang,Black k2 frame altus group set 8 speed shimano mechanical disc brake/Mavic 221 rimset matatag narin kasi kaya ako kahit nag jujump ako 98kilos ako ehh mataba.ritchey headset/handle bar/2.35 continental tire/sr santour duro j type magnesium/mob pedals/nakaka tagal din sa technical na up and down hill.itong bike ko bro 3 months old palang pero kahit saan mo dalhin palaban hehehe.Licao/Montalban/Maarat/Marilao/Norzagaray/Bayabas/Matitic/Puray/Quezon Province/

you have a nice fork. The main difference with a built bike and a assemble it urself bike are some of the parts that would be muchmuch important.
Kahit di "sikat" K2 frame nya, ganda ng fork naman.

KHS is around 12,500 and Giant is 13,800 i guess. But what i want with khs, it is already disc brakes. while giant is using alivio and acera but v brakes only.

What does the experts can say?

Sir, maiksi lang ang 3months.... what if antayin mo lang, so you can get your dream bike upon purchase... wala pang hassle ng upgrading
