Even the frameset option is expensive

It's not quite as versatile as I'd like, either. This is more of a rival to Niner's BSB9, methinks

Really a noob at cyclocross bikes:

what local bike shop would you recommend if i want to build a cyclocross bike from scratch would it be better if i purchase a build bike instead

Frame - Generic China Carbon frame set
Group - Shimano 105
Breakset - i have no idea what breakset to use.
cockpit - any will do
wheelset - any will do

thanks!

Finally found one that fits my size! I spent 6 months searching and finally pulled the trigger when I found it!

re traction gritt... saw 1 on display sa Tryon Makati.. looks to be solid, and with the price eh it has a lot of potential for upgrades (not the mention the frame looks like the giant revolt, so pwedeng re-paint na lang)... this holds true specially if madami kang left-over na mtb or road bike parts hehe

finally got myself a caadx tiagra from mike go (the bikedilla) yesterday. Planned on going tubeless as i have a spare hope/ztr wheelset, but the stock tires (sammy slick) i am unable to convert without a compressor, so am thinking of buying either tubeless ready tires or folding beads for easier beading using my track pump -- any ideas as to what are the tires that are available locally? the frames seems to have a clearance of about 38c max (dont have plans on using fenders lol), so am looking for 35-38c :-)

@d1nd0

When I passed by Glorious Rides last week they had lots of stock of Continental Cyclocross Speed and Cyclocross Race folding tires (700x35C). Not sure if they are tubeless compatible but you might want to take a look :-)

Most CX tires locally available are 35mm wide. The UCI-legal 32mm/33mm width is quite rare, but isn't a big deal because there aren't any UCI-sanctioned cyclocross races here.

Last I heard, The Bikedilla should also carry Continental's CX tire line - CycloXKing (knobby for mud) and Cyclocross Speed (file tread for hardpack).

Another brand you might want to try is Challenge. I've heard Build Cycles in QC/Paranaque is now the official dealer of their tires, and some of them are for CX, such as the Grifo.
