30k road built bike

Hi! What are my choices for a 30k budget? Merida race lite 900? Does Fuji or Trek has road bikes for the budget?

Specialized and cannondale also have built bikes around that price range, do check them out as well So far the reviews I've seen for the Merida race lite are nice. Decent parts, nice color combinations.

can i build a roadie with my budget? or it's better to get a built? i don't want to exceed my budget since im a noob and my concern really is to develop my skills. I'm not also comfortable in getting a second hand bike or parts.

@alvin, check mo muna if there's a bike that fits you. mura mo nga makukuha but if it doesn't fit...para kang bumili ng mahal na paperweight.

Top priority is fit, just like what Anthrax has mentioned. Since you're just starting, I think it's better if you get a built bike

An office mate assembled an aluminum Cervelo roadbike w/ Tiagra groupset for around 32k from a store in Quiapo. I'm wondering if the frame is original. The frame has the logo "S2" or "R2" (I'm not 100% sure on this). AFAIK the S2 is a carbon not aluminum frame. Thanks.

Built bike yung Surly Long Haul Trucker sa Knobbies. Dalawang unit ang nakita ko doon. Kunin ko sana yung isa kaso hindi ko ka-size.

@Bikepot, Will pass by and try the fit. Real bargain yan @ P30K for a built bike. Nearest to that is a Schwinn Le Tour Elite that I saw for ~P38K. Will now try to convince the Kumander in Tsip!

@alvin3, IMHO, ang brand new built bike on a P30K budget. However, you can find 2nd hand bargains at the same price range. More bang for your buck, ika nga. In my case, I bought a 2nd hand 29er that I'm quite sure 'di ko na i-upgrade dahil it meets my spec requirements na, at 'poser' bike na rin sya, hahah!

The only reason I'm interested in the Surly is that it's hard to find non-racing road bikes 2nd hand.

Salamat mga sir! Keep them coming. Mag iikot din ako cartimar this weekend to see how far can my 30k goes and how much more do i need for other bike stuff. I think im a size 49-50. May shop ba sa cartimar that is an authorized seller of sepcialized bikes?

Congrats, I am also using CAAD9 105 groupset.
As what Anthrax originally suggested to submit yourself to bike fitting. That is what I did, although I got the right frame size for me, I still did the bike fitting and its worth it.
At first I was so excited riding the road bike but after long ride I always have back pain and cramps on my legs. But after having a bike fit I don't feel those things anymore.

san ba pwede mag pa-bike fit? bike was fitted via youtube videos lang for now eh. haha. any shop that offer this in alabang?

Bikezilla in ortigas. They charge 1k for fitting, that includes road, TT, and mtb as far as I know. Never did the bike fitting though, I relied mostly on research and did some measurements myself with the help of a friend. So far I haven't been experiencing any pains while riding. I've yet to try a bike fit, maybe when I get another bike. Although I'm pretty sure most if not all of the experience road and TT riders would highly recommend the bike fit first before anything else. Enjoy your new roadie, lucky you still got a CAAD9. hehe
