The guys had a passion for all things bike and wanted to become a larger part of the bike community. In 2008 KUAT launched their first line of aluminum hanging style hitch racks, the ALPHA and the BETA, creating a tsunami of positive vibes throughout the industry. Due to the consumer response Luke pressed on as the company visionary but with a new partner, Guy Mace; engineering genius, manufacturing guru, and an avid outdoor enthusiast who owns more cars than the average car lot. With the new partnership Kuat released more goodness to the public for 2009-10 (see NV and SHERPA). 1. KUAT NV:

The NV comes fully equipped with front and rear tire ratchet system, hitch lock and integrated bike cable lock. "Holy smokes, a built in repair stand for pre-ride prep, post-ride, clean up, or looking smart." Decked out with Kuat's hand tight cam system, this rack is available for 2" and 1.25" receivers. After equipping your ride with NV, you will need to haul more people due to increased friendship as a result of coolness. Simple storage with lever action pivot for rapid, folding, tilting, and hiding.

So you spent more on your dream bike than you did on your first car. We agree, it was well worth every dime and it deserves the best when it comes to transportation. The Sherpa will get you and your bikes there in style. You can easily mount almost any sized bike by the wheels so you won't have to worry about scratching that sweet paint job or fanaggling bungee cords around a frame that looks like a geometry quiz. It's light enough to take on and off the car with ease but it looks so good that you'll want to leave it on all year.
