Default Adapter for frame that has no ISCG tabs. Is it available?

My HT frame has no ISCG tabs. Was thinking of putting some kind of chain retention device (or chain guide) for my single chainring.
Are there adapters available at our local bike shops? Similar to this:

And if I do use an ISCG adapter, do I need to reface my BB shell to accommodate the adapter? And what can be used to "sandwich" it in place if I'm not using an outboard BB?
Oh, and another thing, can a chain guide alone be used as a chain tensioner? (Or is a dedicated chain tensioner still necessary?) I'm asking because I still get a dropped chain occasinally on my SS bike.

Sori, andami kong tanong. Wala kasi akong experience sa paggamit ng chain guide.

Thanks in advance! :)

i've seen adapters like those. i dunno kung nabebenta sya kung saansaan, pero chainguides like e13s come with those adaptor plates

as for the BB question, um, hindi pa ako nakakagamit ng non-outboard BB (bata pa ako :x) so i'm not sure about this.. pero alam ko iipitin mo lang talaga yun gamit yung BB. no need to reface or anything

secondly, bakit ka kukuha ng chainguide na ISCG kung mas common ang ordinary BB mount chainguides?

chainguides keep the chain from falling off the chainrings. chain tensioners keep it from falling off the cogs. san ba nahuhulog?

Yes, I've also thought about the BB-mounted chainguides, but I guess the ISCG adapter is more versatile.

Was just thinking about hitting two birds with one stone.hehe.

Thanks Pjax!:)

Ay, ganon? So hindi talaga substitute for "real" ISCG tabs yung adapter?

just for hammerschmidt

pero most other components that use ISCG tabs, no problem naman gumamit ng adaptors

E13 ICSG adaptor plates can be bought separately. Also, there are locally available chainguides that are BB mounts like the Prowheel chainguide that I and Pasawaylouie use. Its heavy, no bling, and noisy but it does the job of chain retention cheaply.

sir, meron namang mga bb-mounted na chain guides. wag ipilit kung walang tabs. yung ibang chain guides din may kasamang converter in order to use the guide as bb mounted.

i suggest you don't go welding. may bb mounted chainguides naman.

why not welding? kasi depende sa metal ng frame mo if it can take the heat of the welding process.

if you're using a pressfit bb w/o the tabs. . . then you're stuck with using a c.guide v2 from bionicon. . . quite pricey but effective
