Conventional old school geometry...
Horizontal top tubes..
Horizontal chainstays, even on none suspension corrected rigid fork...
Might stay with the rigid co'z putting an 80 or 100mm fork would ruin the bike's geometry...
Seattube size is 18 inches but it has a low a standover height...
I'm using Old school mosso rigid fork, which is actually lighter than the more popular bladed version.. weighed in at under 700 grams...











I like the simplicity of 3x1 set-up...

Granny for uphill..
Mid ring for cruising..
Big ring for speed..

Following SRAM's philosophy " You don't need too many gears, you just need the right gear"

I'm running 16T BMX sprockets on the rear...

Bike's weight is under 10 kilos... and i actually didn't spend a fortune building it...

I'm through with this project...

ask ko lang sir, sa picture #7, meron po ba gamit yung cable na nakakabit dun sa RD ala chain tensoiner?

The cable is used to allign the rear derrailleur to the rear sprocket...

Pwede rin gumamit ng mahabang bolt for the high gear stopper of the rd (for a cleaner look)... para tumukod hanggang dun sa rear sprocket... unfortunately, wala kasi akong makita sa mga pyesa ko, so gumamit na lang ako ng cable..

Increasing the value of the frame at the same time prolonging the life of the rims, I have decided to use Discbrakes...







Upgraded to Shimano hubs and a 9 speed Alivio cogs...She has now a complete 3x9 drivetrain...

nice idea for the rear disk brake conversion. how does it hold up? have an old frame laying around here with no provisions for disk brakes. think of using it again one time, just haven't had any idea yet to convert it to a disk brake ready frame or would run a front disk brake only set up.

The adapters are holding up excellently.... on a scale of 1-10.. 10 being the highest.. i would rate it at 10...

It is made of 1/4 inch thick solid steel... the mounting holes which holds up the adapters as per my research is used for luggage carriers which holds up loads of up to 15 kilos...

I live here in lower sucat... we do have a downhill portion here on our place that's capable of running a bike from 40 to 50 kph... i have tried it everyday...

Fabricating adapters is actually not new for me... i own a motorcycle shop, prior to that i used to own a bicycle shop... i am customizing motorcycles for almost 15 years... i fabricate discbrake adapters for motorcycles that runs 140 kph... i use the same username on motorcycle philippines.com

29'er wheelset, Ready...

But still contemplating if a 29x2.0 tires will fit in... been to quiapo lately but most of the bikeshops only have 29x2.0... no luck in finding a 700x35c... mostly 23c lang ang available...

Do you guys know where i can find a 700x35c tires?...or maybe smaller than 29x2.0? kahit na 1.75 or 1.5?...

I would gladly appreciate any replies..thanks a lot!

Sa sobrang excitement to try a 29er/ 700c wheelset.. asked riding buddies if they have a spare 700c tires..

Donations came right away... pati road wheelset ibinibigay... pero sabi ko, i don't need it, i just needed tires to test the bike...

Finally tested it tonight...first time to try slicks on a 29'r and wow!... parang lumilipad ang feeling!... ang gaang.. ang bilis!...

btw the tires installed are 700x20c...

^ CX tires sir usually meron 35c to 38c, kaso may knobs. Or you can try dun sa shops na specialty mga fixies, I think may stocks sila 35 to 38c na slicks.

If you can , always use >/=23C

Yes tama si Ryan , CX tires are the way to go >30C .

Bought my Continental tires na 35C sa Ross Cartimar. Also try Raven Cycles sa FB

I rode and smash the bike just like a regular mtb and not putting in mind that i'm sporting a roadie tire...

The verdict--> Sobrang tigas!

The result--> I found myself standing on a simple rough terrain which i usually sit on my regular mtb... Sobrang tagtag!, i run it on 100psi just like what is shown on the tire... i slow down on humps which i usually smash on my mtb...

haayzz.. really needed a much bigger 700c tires... no offense to roadbike users... but i don't know how can they cope up with so much vibration...

Finally found the right tire... 700x35c Duro Sevilla... max 73psi... min 36psi...

Frame still has plenty of room for a 40c or even 45c tire...

Ive seen your post on the other thread.,. are you building a 29'er wheelset on a 26'er frame?..this pic might help..



Be sure your frame's seatstays and chainstays has a clearance between 350 and 360mm..

If you don't mind me asking... are you building a cyclocross or monstercross bike? because if you do, be sure you fit the right requirement... i've been lurking around forums on mtbr.com (a foreign website) about cx and monstercross for quite sometime now, and they are harsh, i mean they are very harsh! if you don't fit the requirement... they are straightforward on telling you that your bike is UGLY or FUGLY if you don't fit in...

Dito satin sa pinas a few bikers appreciate steel... but on mtbr.com, steel really is a big deal.... once i finished this build, i will also be posting this bike there... just saving up for a good dslr, coz im still using celfone cam on all of my pics hehe...

it depends sir.... kung roads, i would prefer the 700c but i would strongly recommend 35c and up... i will never go back with the narrower 20c... sobrang vibration, parang solid tire na pure rubber ang gamit mo without air on it...

kapag uphill naman jan ko nami-miss ang torque ng 26'er... eventhough mas mabigat ng 2 kilos yung fulsus ko mas magaang pa rin sya sa akyatan...

tnx archer22, yan nga din nbasa ko, downside ng bigger wheels mdyo makunat sa akyatan, now i'm contemplating on putting 700c or just reducing my 26 tire to 1.5-1.75
