@morte: dito ko rin sa PMTB nabasa somewhere, just can't find the thread. just be careful not to burn your pads to much. pag nawala na usok or amoy ng sunog na oil, alisin mo na sa flame and palamigin mo na, wag mo buhusan ng tubig or ilagay sa ilalim ng gripo.

Question Re: Brake pads question

Hello sirs,

Are there any issues with using Shimano non-series calipers and/or pads with xt rotors?

Just finished a wheel build and installed a 180mm xt rotor (RT76) up front and so far I am getting very good and reliable stopping performance with the installed m446 calipers with resin pads. I did notice though that the pads (B01s) might be a bit wider than the braking surface of the rotor. Will this be an issue?

Comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! =)

pag nalagyan ng oil ang rotors and ginamit ang bike, most probably, contaminated na rin ng oil ang pads.

this time around, the pads need to be de-contaminated - not just the rotors.

Kumpleto sila dun from groupsets to replacement parts.

Ok lang yan sir more than a year ko na ginagawa yan every ride sa dirt hinuhugasan ko ang bike at sinasabon pa. Hindi ko naman binoblower i let it dry itself lang wala naman naging problem.

You mean humina habang basa or habang umuulan or humina ang performance on subsequent rides after na ulanan?

Humihina daw talaga ang resin pads pag basang-basa, so ang iba ginagamit ang metallic pads during wet conditions.

Once dry, however, dapat bumabalik sa dating performance ang resin pads. If it seems to have weakened permanently, then you should try cleaning your rotors with alcohol or brake cleaner. Pag mahina pa rin, dapat i decontaminate na ang inyong rotors.

Nagka ganyang problem ako dati. Mahina compared sa dry. But then after umulan tapos nilinis yung pads at dinecontaminate yung rotors mahina pa rin, bumili ako ng alligator semi metallic pads. So far so good naman.

thanks sa mga reply sirs

@ acmi
habang basang basa sir kapag umuulan, inabot kasi ako ng malakas na ulan muntik na akong bumangga sa tricyle sa harap ko dahil halos di kumakagat ang brakes
pero lumakas na ulit nun natuyo

@derreck
balak ko rin mag palit ng semi metallic pads

another question, with metallic pads mas grabby ang brakes compared sa resin?
