i run kcnc sc wing on my XC bike and road bike, no problem so far. thompson's are strong also with a little weight penalty. some folks also use Uno which is cheaper than kcnc, never heard any complain. as long as you'll use it within its bounds im sure it will serve you well.

i had a chance to install some token components on my buddy's bike yesterday(post,stem,h-bar,clamp,skewers), their products are well made and very close to kcnc in terms of weight and almost identical in design but 30% cheaper.

Hi,i would like to ask your opinion if it is worth it to upgrade from my present set up:

stem: ALL TERRA 1 1/8" THREADLESS, 3D FORGED, 4-BOLT W/ CNC FACE PLATE, 5ᄚ RISE,
31.8mm CLAMP
hb: ALL TERRA 6061 ALUMINUM RISER, 685mm WIDTH, 25mm RISE, 31.8mm CLAMP
headset: FSA NO.11N 1 1/8" THREADLESS, ZEROSTACK
(i can't see any info about all terra products from the net)

here's what I'm planning to buy:

stem : Syncros FL stem 70mm (113g)*
HB : Syncros AM2014 (318g)*
headset: Syncros FL hardcore headset (118g)*
*weight from their website

thanks.

i guess you're upgrading due to weight. . . that would be great but also consider if the the stem's length and rise, the bar's width, rise, backsweep and upsweep are ok for you. . .

syncros(the original) products are known to be bulletproof components. . . so i guess my answer is yes

sir mcoy123,thank you very much for your reply.yes to i'm upgrading due to weight(although i don't have any idea on the weight of all terra) and also due to looks.i find the design attractive.

as per your concern,i supposed that's with regards to bar, what can you recommend?here's the specs of the one I want:

Intended use: All Mountain / XC
/ Material: double butted 2014
/ Rise: 25mm
/ Widths: 670/710mm
/ Sweep: 5 degree
/ Clamp size: OS (31.8mm)
/ 318g (710mm)

the stem's specs:

/ Intended use: XC / Marathon
/ Forged and CNC machined out of 2014 alloy using a patented 4D net manufacturing process
/ Black taper-head stainless steel bolts
/ Bi-oval design maximizes strength and minimizes weight
/ Engineered to be compatible with carbon
handlebars and steerers
/ Lengths: 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 / 130mm
/ +/- 6 degree rise/drop
/ 113g (70mm)

what lenght can you recommend?

thanks again.

medyo depende pa rin sa frame mo sir. . . if it's xc, trail or am. . . in general xc bikes would use longer stems than trail or am bikes, i feel it's a bit off if you'll be putting am/dh parts on xc frames.

it's best that you feel your current set-up and then adjust as needed. . . do you think you need wider bars? longer shorter stem? take note that as the bars go wider, the stem usually shortens par ma-maintain mo yun ideal position mo sa bike. . . .

. . . and let's discuss this in another thread. . . off-topic na tayo. . . hehehe
