doing bike to work again after 2 weeks of rest due to sickness, now got a new fork with remote speed lockout, laking tulong pala talaga ng pagllock ng fork sa paved road to achieve more speed!!!

Di ba hassle riding your bike to work? I mean you'll get sweaty and stinky and all once you're there. Meron bang shower room offices ninyo? If none, how do you go about it? Papano kung you need to wear office clothes? Do you have it with you in your backpack? Eh di luko-lukot na yun?
I'm contemplating on it though. The drive from QC to Makati always takes forever! Saan safest route coming from Commonwealth to Buendia if you're riding your bike to work?

Those who are thinking about it tend to (over)analyze and (over)think yung mga requirements, details, logistics, etc. Ganyan ako noon. I even made a lot of lists, charts, graphs, etc. etc.... para lang ma-determine if it's even feasible for me to bike to work, especially in my case, kasi sa Montalban, Rizal ako nakatira pero sa Makati City ako nagta-trabaho. Looking back, natatawa na lang ako (lalo na pag naaalala ko yung Step-By-Step procedure na sinulat ko... OC kasi ako, hehe). Ngayon kasi, after doing this for 3 years now, parang automatic na lahat. Parang second nature na at wala na masyadong dapat isipin pa. ![]() Going back to your questions: Quote:

Good thing may shower rooms sa planta and my stationary bike pa sa gym so padyak pa ulit pampalakas..hehe.. Every mondays i bring the car dala uniform for the week and fridays uwi ang dirty clothes.. The problem is rather than saving alot eh mas napapagastos pa yata ako lalo, tinamaan ako ng sakit sa pag upgrade hirap iresist..tsk...

I've been going on bike to work since November 2011...the moment I got my bike. And it really feels good in the morning even if it's merely 4kms away. Mas buhay na buhay ako sa umaga at hindi yung tipong inaantok pa.

Been doing bike to work since last year (can't remember exactly when)..Oh by the way, i'm using a japan surplus folding bike..
from GGS (boni serrano) to Anapolis EDSA, then tiklop sabay sakay ng ordinary bus going to estrella..From there, bike na ko going to Mckinley Hill..Nga pala, pang gabi ako from 11pm to 8am..Bus fare is only 20-24 pesos a day..Saves gas and parking fee..Hahahahahaha! Laki ng natipid ko..300 pesos ba naman sa parking fee for 5 days plus gas mo pa kumpara sa 120 a week na bus fare..

How long does it take you one-way? Which is the hardest, going or returning? What time do you leave and what time do you come home? Any experience that you can share that we must avoid doing while sharing the road with everybody else? Sorry sa dami ng tanong sir. I just want to get motivated.

@chief, he he he, si plankton_dash ang kausap mo. there's only a handful of guys who can catch up to him on the road.
QC to makati...madali yan papunta, medyo hassle ang pauwi kasi panay ahon. then again...depende kung saan ka sa QC. if you're in the west side of EDSA, you're pretty lucky, daming shortcut via new manila, san juan and mandaluyong. pero kung dito ka sa East side...medyo hanap ka kung saan ka tatawid. meron ding short cut, medyo maahon nga lang din.

I was determined to keep my heart rate below 130bpm sa flats & below 150bpm sa uphills (recovery ride mode). Successful naman ako at hindi pa rin na-late. Ibig sabihin, hindi naman talaga kailangan pumaspas para makarating sa paroroonan. ![]()

Layo ng bike-commute ni sir plankton hehehe. Kanina sobrang init, bigla ako nagfade sa may España going to Nagtahan. Parang naupos ako sa init. Un lang kasi 1pm na uli pasok ko, so I'm on the road between 12-1pm. Tirik ang araw, pero go pa rin. Sarap eh!

@plankton, he he he sanay na kasi katawan mo ganung speed kaya 'di na tumataas masyado ang heart rate.
ako naman nagtataka, for some unknown reason, kahit paspas ako or petiks..pareho lang ang travel time. btw, i'm benchmarking my perfomance on 2 bikes. hindi ko alam kung nag-e-even out lang yung tulin at bagal ko on some parts of the route. pero ito napansin ko. i could stand and mash but not maintain speed while climbing using HT, but i can use the momentum which tends to get lost as i reach the apex. on the FS, hindi ako pwedeng mag mash, the rear flexes too much. but i can maintain a slower yet steady pace and speed while climbing, it actually forces me to spin.
