Has anyone tried using Silicone Sprays like Cyclo Synthetic Polumer Lube on their bike parts? I recently washed my bike and this is what I found on our shelf at home. I also have WD40 but as I read on previous posts it is not recommended. I also have an oil additive which I use on my vehicles during change oils known as Motor-Up. Can I use this on my chain as I read some are using motor oils?

@jmtyper, ok to use silicone oil spray sa drivetrain, mas ok sa fork since it will protect the rubber bushings.. sa chain, depende sa trail. pero kung hindi ka maselan ok naman gumamit ng motor oil, mahirap lang dyan ang maglinis..DIrt MAgnet..

In the Phlippine climate and riding conditions it is advisable to use a wet lubricant.

Where I ride its dry and dusty and wet lube would only attract more dirt. I use dry lube, Finish Line Dry Teflon.

Zefal Dry Lube is the BEST.. cheap for 170 pesos, doesn't attract much dirt and super clean ;) try it!

I tried Zefal and Prolink. Mas OK yung Prolink mas malinis kesa sa Zefal. Pero nung naubos ko na yung Prolink, I try to use the White Lightning Clean type lube.

Bike commuter po pala ako kaya I have a fetish on clean chain hehehe.

Hmm, kung wla tlaga mas maganda pa mantika ahehe. The petroleum jelly might not be able to get inside the pins where the lubrication is needed most.

On long and epic rides, I usually use a wet type of lube for my chain. Singler oil or the likes...specially if the weather is unpredictable.

In case I know...or feel that I'm going to ride on a hot, windy day...I use Finish Line Dry Teflon too. :)

im using engine oil before, sayang kasi kung hindi pa ubos, tiyagaan nalang sa pag linis after some rides,
sometimes Singer multi-oil
and now i use "TF2 Dry wax"
has anyone tried it before and is it good on dry rides?
my review : it looks good and feels good, and not dirt magnet, hindi ko lang alam kung mabilis lang siya matanggal sa chain.

before, I was told to use 1 part kerosene and 1 part used cooking oil.
then, I used the Singer all-purpose machine oil.
But now, as suggested by sir Mcoy123, I use Squirt water-based lubricant. It seers well in through the joints and when the water evaporates, all that's left is the lubricant inside the moving parts.
