CYCLE ART BACKGROUND

Considered as one of the pioneers in the bicycle business during the 70s, Johnny’s Electrical and Bicycle Shop is a family business operated by the King family and founded by Johnny King, Sr. Their simple shop in Quiapo, which offered electrical, hardware and local bicycle parts, served as the family’s livelihood where all its members had their own share of labor.

One of his sons, Johnny “Joone” King, Jr., who enjoyed the outdoors, saw the potential of bicycles and decided to launch his own bicycle business. In the year 1994, Mr. King acquired a property at 610 Quezon Blvd. (also in Quiapo) and put up a bicycle store they named CYCLE ART (owned and operated by the King family). Realizing the growing demands in the market, Mr. King saw the need to make CYCLE ART bigger and better. Thus in 2003, CYCLE ART went through a total makeover. The more spacious shop offers better service (through friendly, trustworthy, and knowledgeable staff), a wider variety of quality products, and everything still at affordable prices.

CYCLE ART’s vision is for every Filipino to experience and enjoy the benefits of bicycles to health and the environment. The company’s foundation is deeply rooted to family values, business ethics and faith in God. Their success is accounted to strong management-employee relations, harmonious relationship with both customers and suppliers, and constant research and development. Currently, they offer imported products from Germany, U.S., Taiwan, Italy, Malaysia and more.

Mr. Joone King, together with his wife, Arlene are dedicated to staying updated with the industry’s fast-paced growth. Their daughters, Jen and Nicole, are the next generation of cycling enthusiasts to resume expansion and improvement of the business their parents successfully established.
