I noticed that the new generation of MTB's have multiple color schemes which seems to cater more of the younger (read: 20's and below) riders. I guess I'm getting old (I'm in my early 30's btw) already and personally prefer simple colors that are easier on the eyes, stealth just like the Cannondale Bad Boy Ultra.

i prefer a simple color scheme...more on subdued colors. i also have this attraction to "raw" metal. i like unpainted frames like titanium, aluminum & steel. i once saw an unpainted frame with discoloration on the welds & it looked sweet...

Uhm... Not exactly loud colors... But if given a choice, I'd choose all white...
Lesser decals will look good for me too. ![]()

I prefer monochromatic. A bit of decals here and there so long as its not overly done. The color should also blend in easily to earth tones dahil parating putikan ang bike ko ahihihihi cant help it.

My full-sus bike started out monochromatic - that is predominantly black with silver accents (mainly from the XT groupset). After two years, the color scheme grew quite boring. I'm working on to add some colour to it, and put a bit contrast with the black.
My hardtrail is also monochromatic - predominantly white with black trim. I'm thinking of getting rid of the red from the logos (frame decals).

for some reason, the frames i choose have this distinct color. i started color coordinating, basta black/red combi.
funny thing is, one of the first branded frames i got has this non stick coating, so it's just plain red but not glossy. then a few years later, for some reason the frames that i bought are black with the name brand in gray or white. no fancy lines second color or line. although my HT now has this gray tribal design on it but it's matte so no glossy anything.

I used to have my old DB in a metallic brown color scheme, but had to change the color to something distinct to my personality. Which is green.
My current ride's white, since I want it simple. But then again, had to add a spike of personalization and added gold/yellow. If its one color, its either green or white If its one color with an accent its either green with white or white with yellow/gold. Bling-bling's out of the question, since I don't want to end owning a bike that screams, "Steal me!".

when it comes to my cars, and now my bikes, i prefer simple looking lang. 2 colors maximum sa frame; frame color and the bike's name. black and red combo din fave ko.
when i was renovating my house, a designer told me, elaborate designs always go out of style. simple designs are timeless.

My first and current mountain bike has a color combination of black and grey but the consistent upgrading and component-buying that I have done has resulted in a noticeable combination of black and yellow. I also like those bold color schemes that reflect the youth culture of today.

I always end up with the same single color orange. Maybe its my frame size? 1993: size 19 Gary Fisher K-Fish; 2009: Marin Hydro HT Nail Trail. So what do I do? I named them Agent Orange 1 & Agent Orange 2 respectively.
Circa early 90's: MTBs came out in LOUD colors like neon yellow and shocking pink! And they came with matching neon spandex! ![]()

because of the yearly product release cycle, the graphics designers who come up with the colourways obviously have to pick something that is fresh and current - whether color, color scheme, graphics, or text font.
as a buyer you don't really have much of a choice unless it is a custom bike or you do a repaint. i'm with mann1x as long as we don't return to neons i'm ok.
